Tenor peruano nacido en Lima en 1927. Se formó musicalmente en su ciudad natal, y empezó su carrera dando conciertos y recitales hasta alcanzar el éxito interpretando el papel de Alfredo en la Traviata de Verdi, lo que supuso su dedicación exclusiva a la ópera.
Gracias a un Premio de la radio peruana, pudo ampliar su formación en Milán donde alcanzó renombre por la belleza de su voz y su musicalidad. El éxito definitivo, le llego en 1955, cuando participó en la inaguración de la Piccola Scala de Milán, cantando "Il matrimonio segretto" de Cimarrosa. Dos años mas tarde ya cantaba Falstaff de Verdi, en Salzburgo y Viena. Destacó sobre todo en el repertorio Rossiano y Mozartiano.

Thanks to an Award of the Peruvian radio, it could extend its formation in Milan where it reached fame for the beauty of its voice and its musicality.
The definitive success, it came to him in 1955, when it took part in the inaguración of Piccola Scala of Milan, singing "Il marriage segretto" of Cimarrosa. Two years later he was already singing Falstaff de Verdi, in Salzburg and Vienna. He stood out especially in the repertoire Rossiano and Mozartiano.
