John Guillermo Waterhouse (Roma, el 6 de abril de 1849 - Londres, el 10 de febrero de1917).
Pintor británico. Hijo de artistas, su principio como el pintor fue bajo la influencia del neoclasicismo victoriano. En la fase siguiente es un pintor prerrafaelita. Más tarde fue atraído por el planairismo de los impresionistas franceses. Si a principios de su carrera se dedico a temas de la antigüedad clásica, mas adelante en ello abordó literario, siempre con un estilo suave y misterioso imbuido del romanticismo, que permiten enmarcar dentro del simbolismo. Pintor famoso en la vida, su reputación se inclinó durante el siglo XX. Al final de este siglo una revalorización de sus contribuciones a la historia de la pintura.
