Menendez Pelayo, was limiting the Spanish philosophy of the XIXth century to two names: Graceful Spanish Parliament and Jaíme Balmes. Although I believe that after reading its works, it might agree with if liberal and traditionalist was limiting himself to speaking about conservative philosophy, anti. Although it is not the case exactly, because, on having read its works thoroughly, Balmes faced the relativism or excepticismo that the traditionalists opposite to the modern revolutions identify with a liberalism that for lacking strong beginning, fixed ideas, favors the victory of the socialistic ideology.
I like this book, because it is an invitation to the reflection on the means to know the truth in the things, in the reality. I would define it as a premodern realism because the unyielding plurality makes compatible with the unit., since he aspires to meet the entire man and relate all its faculties.
