Por desgracia la condicion mortal de Sémele no pudo soportar el abrazo del Dios, y su rayo la convirtio en ceniza.
El hijo de Sémele, Baco, fué arrebatado de su vientre antes de morir, y cosido al muslo de Jupiter hasta que nacio.
