Apolo

Hijo de Júpiter y Latona, y padre de Esculapio. Era el Dios de la Luz, de la curación, (su luz hacia crecer las plantas), la poesía, la música, -en especial la de la lira-, y de las profecias. Al nacer, un resplandor de luz brillo sobre la isla de Delos y unos cisnes sagrados, volaron alrededor de la isla 7 veces. Despues de que Latona lo abandonara, se alimentó de ambrosia y nectar. Lo que le hizo adoptar un aspecto deslumbrante, y se convirtio asi en la personificación del amor y de la belleza. 

Tambien era cazador, y actuaba como protector de los atletas y los jovenes soldados en las guerras. Entre sus atributos destacan el arco, la lira y la flecha, el carro dorado, empujado por cuatro caballos o cuatro rayos de sol, la rama de laurel y de la corona.

En su condición de dios de las profecias, se propuso encontrar un lugar adecuado para proporcionar oraculos a los humanos. Lo encontro en el valle de Delfos, en el corazón de Grecia. Un monstruo de la oscuridad conocido como Pitón, custodiaba la entrada al valle, por lo que Apolo le dió muerte disparandole 1000 flechas

Son of Jupiter and Latona, and Esculapio father. There was the God of the Light, of the healing, (its light was making the plants grow), the poetry, the music, - especially that of the lyre - and of the predictions. On having been born, a light resplendence shone on the island of delos and a few sacred swans, 7 times flew about the island. After Latona was leaving it, it fed on ambrosia and nectar. What made him adopt a dazzling aspect, and it turned so into the personification of the love and of the beauty.

Also he was a hunter, and he was acting like protector of the athletes and the young soldiers in the wars. Between its attributes they emphasize the arch, the lyre and the arrow, the golden car pushed by four horses or four beams of the sun, the branch of laurel and of the crown.

In its god's condition of the predictions, he proposed to be a place adapted to provide oracles the human beings. It found it in the vale of Delphi, in the heart of Greece. A monster of the darkness known as Python, he was guarding the entry to the vale, therefore Apollo gave him death shooting 1000 arrows to him
